Spaced-Out Day
This one's quite minimal really, just voice, and "bass" and "drums" (Groovebox really), and "organ" (Casio DG-20!) and it makes me realise that I have lots to learn about recording levels and compression, and finding out why mixes go so unpredictably whoompy sometimes. The whoomphiest sound around can be heard on the theme from the "Young Doctors", as played by The Executives (who also did the amazing femme-vox psych-pswirly "Moving In a Circle...), but 'Spaced-Out Day' comes quite close - I thought I was just making the bass as deep as possible - oh well, no time to fix it, 'cos I have to post this tonight, of course, so here it is, the sound of Week 9, a tender comedown ballad after last week's psychedelic mayhem, and maybe, just maybe, I'll read about the proper use of compression in time for next week. Until then, have fun and be nice to everyone!

Great track! "Sunday morning" meets "No surprises" which is a good place to meet.
Ah "The young doctors" soundtrack to a hundred school holiday lunchtimes
